Electrically operated lift and recline chairs

The Camelot range of electrically operated lift and recline chairs offers exceptional levels of comfort, style and quality. Each chair is individually crafted to our customers' requirements.

All of our motors have a smooth whisper-silent movement providing both assistance and independence for the elderly and less able when sitting, reclining or rising from the chair, at the simple touch of a button.

Our chairs are purchased by NHS hospitals, the social services and the general public throughout the country for people with special needs, such as those who suffer from rheumatism, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and general weakness of the back and limbs, or those who have difficulty rising from a normal armchair.

Please consult your occupational therapist, physiotherapist or mobility stockist for advice on non-standard chair sizes to ensure correct posture. What is the difference between a Single or Dual Motor chair?

As you can see from our on-line catalogue, the EC7 Pendragon and EC8 Guinevere are Single Motor reclining chairs only and the the EC10 Avalon, EC11 Tintagel and EC12 Merlin are available as either Single or Dual Motor models. All of our electric chairs can tilt the user to a standing position. The difference between Single and Dual Motor chairs is to do with the amount of control the user has over the recline positions of the chair.
Dual Motor chair sequence.
The difference between the two is simple. When you press the lower button on the two-button hand control, the Single Motor chair will follow a set sequence (see the diagrams below) as it moves towards its full recline position. The upwards movement of the footrest and the recline of the chair back are controlled by one button only, although you may pause the movement at any desired position. A dual motor chair allows independent control of the footrest and the chair back, with a separate button to control each one, thus allowing a greater diversity of seating positions.

What is the difference between the Single Motor 2-Way and Single Motor 3-Way action?

The difference between these two types of chair is very simple, as shown above. Whilst the 2 Way motor action (to be found on the EC10 Avalon, EC11 Tintagel and the EC12 Merlin in their Single Motor versions) offers less of a recline than the 3 Way action, its position may be more suitable for those with certain spinal conditions or back problems (consult your stockist or Occupational Therapist if you are unsure which chair is suitable for you). The Single Motor 3 Way action (as found on the EC7 Pendragon and the EC8 Guinevere chairs) allows the footplate to reach the horizontal before the back acheives its full recline, thus allowing a choice of back rest positions.
Safety Features
  • All Electrically Operated Chairs come with a Removeable Locking Key Hand Control (illustrated above) which prevents the chair from being operated when the key is absent.
  • All backs are detachable for ease of delivery / movement and come with a locking device to secure the chair back before use.
  • The 24V Torid Transformer reduces the power supply from the 240v mains voltage.
  • All Electric models feature a full-length quilt overlay to the seat and footrest which offers additional comfort and support, and closes the gap between the seat and footrest for additional safety.
  • Handset Pocket and Magazine Pocket are fitted as standard features to the right side (sitting) of the chair (no-cost option to fit to the left hand side) and the handset wiring is cable-tied to the chair frame to prevent any accidental damage.

Safety Notice

Do not allow children or pets to play on or around the vicinity of the chair, and be sure to warn visitors with young children about the possible dangers of entrapment. If this is of particular concern, then please ask us about the Antensys Anti-Entrapment Risk Reducing System which is available on all of our electric lift and recline chairs (see Accessories and Optional Extras).

To prevent unsupervised or accidental use of the chair we would recommend that the chair is disconnected from the mains when not in use for long periods of time.
